Güneş Daşlı

Güneş Daşlı is a CARA-funded postdoctoral researcher at Loughborough University’s School of International Relations, Politics, and History. She completed her PhD at the Jena Center for Reconciliation Studies in Germany, earning the highest distinction (summa cum laude) in 2023.

Her academic work focuses on transitional justice, reconciliation, peace and gender, victim movements, the Kurdish conflict, and post-conflict societies. She is currently working on a research project on the transitional process in Syria. She also teaches on related themes in these fields.

Her research has been published in leading international journals such as the International Journal of Transitional Justice and the Journal of Human Rights.

In addition to her academic work, Daşlı has long been active in the women’s and feminist movements in Turkey and continues to engage in peace initiatives as a feminist peace activist. Between 2013 and 2015, she took part in grassroots women’s peace initiatives during the Turkey Peace Process, including the Women’s Freedom Assembly (Kadın Özgürlük Meclisi – KÖM).

As a founding member of DEMOS Research Association, she conducted fieldwork-based research on gender and peace in Colombia and authored various reports and articles on peace and conflict resolution until 2024.

She has organized workshops for civil society members and peace activists on transitional justice, peacebuilding, and gender. Daşlı currently works as a consultant on international projects related to transitional justice processes.
